Understanding Ayurvedic Medicine for Diabetes

Considering that most the therapies written in Ancient Ayurvedic scriptures more than 2000 years ago are slowly but surely being proven to be correct by clinical research, Ayurveda deserves more attention that most mainstream therapies do.

As mentioned in Charaka Samhita, it is the lifestyle that is responsible for growing conditions like obesity and diabetes.

A combination of these three methods is sufficient to provide the person with long term relief from Diabetes. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment, using the Ayurveda model has many other benefits for the overall wellbeing of the body.

The idea is not just to help control blood sugar but also reduce the other contributing factors which can be a precursor to diabetes. Obesity for example, is one of the leading causes of Diabetes and vice-a-versa.

By eliminating refined carbohydrates and cutting out sugar from the diet, the body weight is reduced significantly. Exercise adds to this and half the battle is won there.
